If this will help anyone here is what I did on arch in PKGBUILD prepare() I successfully "unpatched" 5.15.30 and the issue went away for me. > Kernel 5.17 is also affected by this issue. > swiotlb: fix info leak with DMA_FROM_DEVICE > swiotlb: rework "fix info leak with DMA_FROM_DEVICE" (In reply to Adilson Dantas from comment #4) The same problem occours with 5.16.16 but everything is normal with 5.16.14 and below. The network controller used is: Qualcomm Atheros QCA9565 / AR9565 Wireless Network Adapter (rev 01) on a Dell notebook. The connection becomes very unstable even when I was near the wifi router. I hope my description helped some of you with resolving issues with this network card.I have found some problems with an Atheros Wireless since I upgraded from kernel 5.16.14 to 5.16.15. Has anyone experienced the same issue, and perhaps knows the answer? I have to reboot my laptop every 10 hours so it works properly. So the issue with my network card still persists, and I'm unable to find any solution for this one. After trying to reboot my laptop, everything was working again.
The standard download speed of 50mb/s dropped to 2mb/s again. This weird issue disappeared, I was able to listen to my friends talking without any issues.Īfter that time, everything seemed alright, however I noticed that after long time of using my laptop without rebooting it (say, 10 hours) the network speed dropped drastically. Sudo nano /etc/NetworkManager/conf.d/nfĪnd editing wifi.powersave = 3 to wifi.powersave = 2and rebooting.
The fix to this issue was to turn off powersaving of my network card by entering this file: The download speed was alright, but the network reliability was not very great. However, when I called my friend on Discord to talk to him, I was literally unable to understand what he was talking to me, probably because of constant network drops.
It actually helped! My internet connection was working great again, I had the same download speed as my Windows laptop.
The first attempt to fix it was to change hardware encryption to software one with:Įcho "options ath9k nohwcrypt=1" > /etc/modprobe.d/nf So basically from the very beggining of my Linux adventure it was very slow, the internet download speed was around 2 mb/s whilst on my second Windows laptop it was around 50 mb/s.
I have installed Pop!_OS recently on my laptop, Dell Inspi(config: i5 8th gen, radeon, 16gb ram) and I've been having a lot of issues with my network card, Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377.
